the best of (the second half of) 2022

Omg… hi guys. It’s been so long. Completely did not mean to drop the ball on this little blog of mine but that’s how life goes, doesn’t it? How have you been? How did the rest of 2022 treat you? Wherever you are, I hope you’re well and healthy! πŸ’•

For the sake of keeping this blog post not-too-long, I’ll catch you all up on the highlights of my latter half of 2022. A lot happened, and I think I needed time to process my values, what my next steps are, where I want to take my life, etc. (i.e. the Big Life Questions). To be frank, I was doing a lot of soul-searching, as cheesy as that sounds. I didn’t know what content I wanted to put on here. But here we are, in the beginning of 2023. Seems like the right time to get back into doing things I love…

My last “life” (aka non-bookish) recap was from May, so here it goes…

SUMMER ’22.

Summer was good to me. I was somewhat busy at work, but the weather is just too good to be beat in Seattle. I love lake time whenever/however I can get it!

Magnuson Park Beach via film photography. It was definitely cloudy but I was getting in the water no matter what…
Olympic National Park camping trip! Have never been an outdoorsy gorl but have since embarked on this new + lovely journey – highly recommend..
Mt. Storm King; my most treacherous hike to-date! But WOW the view πŸ‘€
Mariner’s Game, Fourth of July – just your average summer day in Seattle 🀍
Twin sister came to visit! I took her out on the town and we had a blast. Love a grungy bathroom selfie 🫢🏻
Nothing like a boozy pirate boat with work colleagues on Lake Union – PRIME summertime fine.
Little boat day on Lake Washington. Can you tell I love being on the water in the summer?

AUTUMN ’22.

Autumn was the season of CHANGE let me tell ya. I started taking a free political education course online and started questioning everything about my life + identity, and wondered if I wanted to stay in my job. Finished fall tax busy season and spent lots of time with family. Started applying for new jobs…

That’s me! On UW campus! I love when people send pics that they saw my banner ☺️
My first wine tasting experience for a dear friend’s birthday party.
Dance Church @ Alaska Airlines Hangar. One of the best days ever and have since adored Dance Church classes!!
September was concert-going-Jen. Attended Lauv and LANY!
hi LANY!
Trader Joe’s autumn foods night – thinking this should be an annual thing?
Went down to LA and found myself at a high school football game where Black Eyed Peas performed? So cool.
Getty Museum in LA! Not my first time but always a treat.
Still at the Getty – truly so beautiful.
Griffith Observatory sunrise hike! Goooooorgina.
Huntington Botanical Gardens
Took myself to the Broad on my birthday while my twin was at work!! Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms.
Topgolf – a team event. I was so bad but it was still fun! Will never be a golf girlie and I am 100% ok with that πŸ™‚
Back at my parent’s house in the Bay Area! Had to include my sister’s partner’s dog… the new love of my life these days πŸ₯°

WINTER ’22.

Exciiiiting and relaxing time for the last weeks of 2022… I got a job offer and quit my current job! Still debating how much I want to share about the whole experience, so TBD. Overall lots of time with family and burning through my PTO ☺️ I’ve been telling my friends that I feel like I can literally see the light since quitting my job. So many good things ahead in 2023!!

Attended a work training in Texas – aka my last hurrah. I put in my three weeks after I got back from the training!
Golden Gate in SF!
More at GG πŸ™‚
Had to visit Home Coffee! The rainbow lattes still get to me…
Exploratorium science museum in SF – a lot of the content went over my head but still found myself on its only dance floor!

That’s about it from me! I start my new job later this month, so I actually have a few weeks of ~funemployment~. It’s been funny getting familiar with the feeling of being bored again. Haven’t felt that way in a while πŸ™‚ Anyhow, look out for a reading recap to come soon; in the meantime, I’ll be auditioning for dance showcases, taking dance classes, drawing on Procreate, and of course, doing lots of reading πŸ₯°

Until then!
