the end of summer

Happy Monday!

As you’re reading this, I’m going to be on my third day of rush, and let me tell you, I’m already exhausted but having a fantastic time meeting all the girls. And since I’m back on campus, that means it’s a wrap for all summer festivities! My first day of school isn’t until the 28th, but you can bet I can pretty much wrap up my summer now.

If you recall, I wrote a summer bucket list at the beginning of the summer. Let’s see how I did! Out of the ten activities, I was able to check off seven items, which is pretty good!

PHOTOSHOOTING: Thank goodness I have people in my life who are willing to take photos of me!

Brunch at Portage Bay: (this waffle isn’t from Portage Bay, I just didn’t take any good photos from PB so I’m using a different image!)

Visit the Space Needle , drive-in movie: When I attended Bite of Seattle in mid-July, they showed Jurassic World outdoors so I’m counting that as a drive-in movie! And while watching the movie, we had a perfect view of the Space Needle. While I didn’t go up the Space Needle, I visited the Skyview Observatory in the Columbia Tower, which is 73 floors up and higher than the Space Needle, AND way cheaper.

Go canoeing/kayaking: So happy I finally canoed this summer! Students get a nice discount, and it’s definitely worth the $6. Something about being on the water is just so peaceful!

Attend a sports game: I was actually lucky enough to attend two Sounders games and one Mariners game this summer, and I didn’t have to pay more than $10 for all three of them combined!! (Being a student is great). Personally I think watching soccer is funner than baseball, but sports games overall are a great way to socialize with other people.

Go hiking: I was able to hike in the beautiful Oregon! I went with my twin sister and dad, and we were rewarded with this gorgeous view of Mt. Hood.

That leaves off three items I wasn’t able to check off: going berry picking, karaoke night with girlfriends, and having a picnic. I wanted to do these three with my friends from back home, but we had less overlap time than I thought and they had to start school shortly after I returned home. Better luck next summer!

What are some highlights of you summer 2016?
