what i *really* wear at home during the pandemic

Hi y’all!

How was your week? I got back in the groove of studying last week and have stayed pretty on track! I got a lot of reading done from Midnight Sun (so good) over the weekend, and then my roommate and I watched Chemical Hearts on Amazon Prime (it was ok? Very John Green vibes).

Today I thought I’d share what I *really* wear when I’m at home during this pandemic! It’s been so interesting following fashion trends since the pandemic started back in March: the increasing popularity in tie-dye, sweatpants, nice tops for Zoom calls, etc…

I’d say this is my standard daily outfit of quarantine. I wear something really similar to bed, but I am a FIRM believer of changing out of pajamas in order to have a productive day. Even if the “daytime” outfit is still extremely comfortable, it’s a mindset thing for me. I’m usually in a basic cotton tee and my trusty Nike sweat-shorts to study in during the morning (my daily routine!) before I get dressed for work.

And if it’s really hot, like it was in Seattle last week, I’ll switch to a cotton tank!

When I have to hop online for work, I get partially ready: change my top to a cuter, dressy top and put on some light makeup and my pearl earrings. Feeling somewhat more put-together for virtual work is important to me; it honestly helps me focus so much better.

Okay me wearing a dress at home? A pretty rare sighting but this was on another one of those super hot days. I had to stay cool but still look nice for my work calls! Also, fun fact, this is probably my oldest piece in my closet – from 8th grade!!

I honestly haven’t really gotten behind the tie-dye trend during the pandemic: I think it’s just a trend that’ll phase out pretty quickly, but I think it is a fun look. I’m sure once it gets cooler (I can’t WAIT for a cozy fall!), I’ll switch to leggings and turtlenecks to wear around the house.

What have you been wearing at home?
