styling mini-skirts in the fall

Hello!

How’s everyone week going? School has been flying by already and looking ahead, I already have two midterms coming up. BUT the year is still young so I made sure to make time to continue doing things I love – like blogging! It’s so funny because I recently met another fashion blogger in the Seattle area, Kaitlin of Kaitlinners. The absolute sweetest gal, and we both wanted new content for our blogs so we decided to go shoot this weekend on the one sunny day we had.

Today, I wanted to show you all how I style mini-skirts in the fall! It’s already pretty chilly in Seattle but I love wearing skirts year-round. My trick? Obviously to stay warm in tights! I always feel about 10 years younger when I put on a pair of tights, but I still love the look. I haven’t ventured out with anything other than black tights, but maybe someday?

Kaitlin and I wandered around downtown Seattle and found this really cool rooftop patio thing – it was a crazy view!

I’ve had this trench coat for forever but somehow have never showcased it on the blog. I got it I think two years ago from Columbia Sportswear, so they don’t have it anymore and their current year one doesn’t have lapels. This raincoat’s been trusty and perfect for Seattle, but recently I’ve been eyeing the trench from JCrew and London Fog, so maybe I’ll invest in one of those soon 😜

Y’all know I love Parisian style, so a striped tee is my go-to alongside a neck-scarf. My corduroy mini-skirt is actually from A&F (also old), and I’ve worn it for so many occasions, I’ve lost count. In short, they’re so versatile! My black booties give some extra length with the black tights since the jacket makes the look a little more bulky. Mine are from Nordstrom Rack but I know Nordstrom itself has a huge selection of black booties to choose from right now.

My second way to style a mini-skirt in the fall is with, you know it, a sweater!

Felt so at home in the Seattle Public Library! I also felt prim & proper in my Mary Jane-style flats. My sweater is from Madewell (from freshman year, oh goodness) but it’s my trusty, cozy turtleneck. A simple outfit but definitely preppy if you want to feel put-together.

How do you style mini-skirts in the fall? I can definitely see others styling mini-skirts with thigh-high suede boots but those aren’t really my style. It does look a lot fancier for class/work for sure. I can’t wait to schedule the next shoot, I always get so excited when I can share new styles with you all.

As always, thanks for reading! Talk soon!

Jen
