sisters sunday on bainbridge island

Hi hi!!

How’s your October going so far?? Mine’s off to a great start – my twin (“M”) came to visit and she stayed with me, so it was a ton of fun catching up and just being ~twins~ together again. I decided to take her to Bainbridge Island since I also hadn’t been and am recapping the little trip here!!

We slept in and headed out to the Seattle ferry terminal at around 11:30am on Sunday. I think it’s probably due to the hectic construction mess that is Alaskan Way right now, but the passenger walk-on entrance to the terminal was so hard to find!! We got on our ferry with a minute to spare. It was pretty cloudy and a little drizzly still when we set sail, but the views were gorgeous nevertheless. Something about ferries, y’all!!

My sister and I walked onto the ferry without a car so we knew we were going to be limited with exploring the island only by foot. That wasn’t going to stop us though!! First stop: Pegasus Coffee! An iconic little coffeeshop with the most beautiful storefront. M’s not a coffee drinker but she succumbed to the PSL πŸ˜‰ πŸ‚

After that, we pretty much just wandered the main street “downtown” – Winslow Way. There are so many cute little shops and restaurants! I was ecstatic to find not one but two little bookstores on that street! Of course I went into both!!

Inside Eagle Harbor Book Co.!

One of my friends who grew up on the island recommended the local grocery story, “T&C” for fab hot to-go food. I couldn’t agree more! M and I weren’t super hungry and this was a perfect lunch. It was so easy to find outdoor seating on this street too!

M and I both love museums, so we ended up browsing the Museum of Art and the History museum. Both were awesome: I loved learning the history of the island and its involvement in WWII (fascinating!). The art at the museum was also gorgeous; both museums were free entry!

Quick little ice cream stop at Mora! We got cinnamon and then the pumpkin pie flavors – yum πŸ™‚

We stumbled upon Proper Fish when looking for a place for dinner and this one has rave reviews! The people were so friendly and the food was *chefs kiss*. A fab meal to end our day on the island!!

We caught the 6:30pm ferry back just in time for sunset. It was really cold but the clouds had cleared!!

I’ll spare you 95% of our ferry photoshoot pictures, but I love this silly windy one!!

Pulling into the Seattle ferry terminal at sunset was STUNNING. 100% reminded me of why I love Seattle.

The rest of our weekend was pretty chill – we both had to work a bit but we spent a lot of our free time making meals from our childhood, snacking on Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and rewatching The Vampire Diaries.

Have you been to Bainbridge Island? I really do love ferries and will definitely try to explore the surrounding islands in the area soon!! They’re such a nice way to get out of the city for not an exorbitant price – the trip was still so refreshing and I feel absolutely recharged.

Thanks for reading!
