return to seattle!

HELLOoooo!

Long time no see – let’s catch up!! March really got the best of me with tax busy season. This one felt crazier and I definitely worked more hours, weirdly not because it actually was, but because I let it get that way. Since I was in California with my parents the whole time and didn’t have ~fun plans~, I let myself keep working and hit a lot of hours every week. Not great for setting boundaries, but it was fun to spend time with my family for the past couple of months.

BUT I’m back in Seattle and so so excited about it. Originally before I knew I was even leaving Seattle, I had bought Olivia Rodrigo tickets: the plan was to go with a group of my gal pals but low and behold, I was the only one who was able to secure a ticket before she sold out. I held onto my ticket because who knows. Come late March, I decided I still wanted to fly back to Seattle and see Olivia even if that meant me going by myself lol.

And then it so happened that a week after the concert would be tax day (!!) and this year my firm was hosting a deadline party, which I knew I didn’t want to miss. And THEN my old roommate found an apartment we couldn’t not apply to – and we got it! Everything happened very fast (mind you, this was when I was chest-deep in busy season so I was indeed frazzled).

It was actually so comical attending this concert because a) I forgot to pack cute concert attire so I was literally in a grandma sweater and my raincoat and b) I did end up attending alone amongst middle school girls. I stood in the way back on the bleachers of WaMu because I was not about to get trampled by the ultra-fans. Gracie Abrams was the opener and I’m a BIG fan of her music now! I had a fun time!!

Your girl was also happy that Olivia only had one album to get through (+ a cover of Complicated by Avril Lavigne!) because it was my BEDTIME and I had so much work to get through the next day lol. But overall takeaways from attending this concert? One: remember to live your life even during the busiest of times because I so would’ve regretted not going, and two: having company is nice but don’t forgo an opportunity just because you have to experience it “alone.” You’d be surprised at how much fun you can still have and there’s a lot less pressure to be judged by anyone.

After the concert was moving weekend! I’m so grateful for the friends that helped (and offered to help) out with our move because it was quick and relatively painless. I did almost lose my friend’s dog in the process, but hey everyone’s safe!! Reunited with my old roommate/one of my closest friends for donuts <3

Tax day came and went and I went into the office for the first time since July 2021 – it was SO fun to see everyone (and some new faces!) again.

Suddenly, my social calendar was booked for the rest of the week. I won Mariner’s Diamond Club tickets from a fast-walking competition at work, so me and some gal pals from work enjoyed the unlimited food/drinks and game!! I took the rest of the week off, which consisted of lots of sleeping in, reading, and catching up with friends. Needless to say, my social battery is very full and I feel recharged from the season’s hard work.

How have you been? Hope you’ve been well and taking care of yourself!!
