a day in the bay

Heellooo!

I can’t believe the majority of October is already behind us! Mid-October was pretty hectic for me as I was reaching the last major tax deadline for the year at work, but right after, I took a full week off and hung out with my family in California. This was my first time taking this long of a break since starting my job, and it was sooo nice.

During one of my days off, my sisters and I headed into the city! I hadn’t been back into the city since my trip three (!) years ago; SF isn’t my favorite city but I can appreciate it for what it is. Our main reason for heading in was to visit the Asian Art Museum, and specifically the teamLab: Continuity exhibit. It was so, so cool. Sadly, we obviously had to wear masks so the pictures didn’t turn out 100%, but just reading about the artists’ intentions behind each showroom was fascinating. And we love interactive art exhibits!

I wish I could share video on the blog, but these projections on the walls and floors are live – they are never in the same exact position, nor is it a video on loop. The projections are also based on who/how many people are in the room, it was so cool!

The Asian Art Museum used to be SF’s main public library! Absolutely stunning.

I was very excited also to see that Chanel Miller’s exhibit was still on display. It was short, sweet, and simple, but also so powerful. If you haven’t read her memoir, Know My Name, I highly recommend.

After, we explored the city and I knew I had to make a return visit to Green Apple Books. I just love how cozy it is!

Before we headed home, we stopped by Japantown – a little food court-like mall with sooo many options for food. My sister took us to one of her favorite udon places, Udon Mugizo. So delish and reasonably-priced!

Feeling very blessed right now to be able to see and stay with family & travel.

Other than that, I spent the majority of my PTO reading, taking lots of walks, and just hanging out with the family. How’s your November looking?

Thanks for reading,

Jen x
